Adfam is UK based charity organisation with a goal to make life easier for families of drug or alcohol addicts. We strive to give anyone affected by a family member's addiction the opportunity to get the benefit from supportive and healthy relationships, feel involved within a loving family and maintain a healthy mental as well as physical wellbeing.
Family relations and happiness can be threatened and even shatter completely due to alcohol and drug abuse.
We support frontline workers and influence decision-makers to stop this happening and also we empower family member and careers.
We listen to frontline workers and families We understand that people who are facing difficulties often have answers. But it's not only support; this program informs and educates family members over devastating effects and how to take a stand in support of drug and alcohol addiction reduction in homes and workplace. So that both groups can help themselves, their peers, communities and clients, we build skills, confidence, pathways and resources.
Substance use has a very significant but varied effect on family members. Our approach of work with care and close regard which works in the whole world. We accept evidence regardless of how different it might be, paying equal attention to both practical evidence and official research data in order to do this. We listen to our peers, supporters and friends and we base our work on their advice.
We are committed to deliver high quality work because we are serious about our work and our partnerships. We recognise that injustice and discrimination are the biggest threats towards individual and family recovery from drug and alcohol abuse. We advocate for just society of individuals with equal rights and opportunities regardless of their drug or alcohol orientation to make a contribution using individual potential towards nation building activities through collective participation.
